RÜTGERS group is Europe’s leading manufacturer of chemical raw materials made from coal tar and has seven international production sites. With approximately 1,000 qualified employees worldwide; using a by-product of hard coal coking we produce essential base materials for the aluminium and steel industries as well as technical oils, naphthalene and other base chemicals.
In doing so we provide industry with critical basis chemicals, which are then processed further to make industrial products such as carbon anodes, refractories, adhesives, coatings and rubber products. Our products are also used for concrete structures and in many other applications.
We place foremost importance on quality, reliability and long term business relations with our customers and suppliers. Our intelligent secured raw materials management, customised solutions, continuous further developments, latest production plants and our own global logistics network, all make sure that deliveries arrive on time and that a consistently high product quality is achieved.
150 years of market leadership
In our more than 150 year history, that started in1849 with an idea some pioneering spirit and conviction and led to the first tar refinery in Germany; we have always worked to improve production, service and logistics. We still continue to do this with great dedication so that now and in the future we can achieve sustainable growth in unison with our customers.
