Carboindene

From oil to resins
In addition to the phenolic components, the carbolic oil from coal tar contains C9-rich aromatic hydrocarbons.
These include, for example, indene, a colorless, aromatic smelling liquid used in the production of hydrocarbon resins. These industrial resins, also called indene-coumarone resins, are processed further to make adhesives, sealants and coating materials.
Other highly aromatic oils in the Aromatic Chemicals business line are used as fuel additives or as raw materials for producing carbon black oil.
So that we can optimally respond to our customers and the needs of the market, RÜTGERS is subdivided into seven lines of business: Basic Aromatics, BTX/PA, Handy Chemicals, Resins & Modifiers, Aromatic Chemicals, Trading and InfraTec.
