Sustainability is also important to us at an economic level. In that we process the raw material - hard coal tar to 100%, instead of letting it burn in coking plants and causing a high CO2 emission. In that we are working on protecting the environment by converting the waste gases, produced during production, into energy in our own incineration plants. In that we deal with our customers and our relationship with them on a long-term, trusting and reliable basis and that we plan our company politics in order to ensure sustainable, profitable growth. On principle that has a long tradition for us. This is why for example RÜTGERS bought the fluorspar mines in 1916 to guarantee the raw material sustainable.
Products with potential
For us sustainability also means the ability to offer our customers a smooth production flow, consistent product quality and favourable prices. We ask ourselves continually, where processes, quotations or product properties can be optimised – for our customers and subsequent consumers. Thus the carbon black oil we produce increases the UV protection and the wear resistance of car tyres. While our binder for the refractory industry CARBORES® contains significantly less toxic substances compared to similar products.
